In my post on CNet: Searchlight, I talk about a variety of things related to negative SEO or, in other words, some tactics that you should be aware of because they could put you in some serious legal trouble. Things like “tattletaling,” where your competitor rats you out to Google for buying links to improve your PageRank could seriously hurt your site. Some of the other definitions I cover are: Google bowling, spam in someone else’s name, and faux duplicate content. While I don’t promote or advocate these tactics, you should be aware of what you (or your competitors) might be doing.
