Finding Fresh Opportunities for Blended Search

In this blog post, that can be read on my CNet: Searchlight blog, I describe a specific example of Google's Universal Search results for the term "SEO," and how it can benefit you. One of the more interesting things I noted in this post, was that Google seems to place a greater importance on more recent events and news than it does on dated material. Might be a good thing to keep in mind as you create content for vertical space.

The Evolution of Blended Search

One of the biggest changes this year in SEO is the concept of blended or universal search. Google Universal has pioneered the concept, and the rest of the major search engines have followed suit. In my article on CNet, I talk about how Universal Search has evolved and will continue to evolve as algorithms continue to be refined.

You can read the article on my CNet: Searchlight blog, for a close look at the difference between the search engines.
