Title tag enticements
Title tags are one of the easiest and biggest impact things you can do for SEO. Not only that, title tags are also very effective in enticing the searcher to click on your listing rather than someone else's.
To maximize that clickthrough here are three quick and easy tips:
- Include a call-to-action like "Buy now" or "Free shipping"
- Form a question
- Don't repeat keyword phrases. Not only does that look redundant from the searcher's perspective but it also looks like keyword stuffing from the search engine's perspective.

And what about placing your URL in the title. Amazon for example uses this formula: Amazon.com: Online Shopping bla-bla-bla.
Others say I should completely exclude my URL from the title tag (as you do, for example). But thinking logically, I would say, if you want your reader know, where he/she is, and where he reads your nice content, you have to place the URL somewhere in the title tag (and even in your logo).
I guess nobody ever checks the location bar to find his way back, nor will he use bookmarks. So you'll have to place this info somewhere, where it gets more attention.Comment by VeryFirstPage [Visitor]
